Introduction
IRISA/DRI is a development
tool for the creation of client and server software using the Irisa’s DRI
protocol in an OS/2 warp V4 operating system environment.
Key features
DRI is an asynchronous communication
bus designed as the internal communication mechanism of Irisa.
It is used to communicate within a single machine or across multiple hardware plat-forms.IRISA/DRI for OS/2 makes it possible for Irisa sub-systems and OS/2 applications to communicate.
Three different implementations are possible :
|
·
As a
DRI client, an OS/2 application has access to an Irisa DRI server ·
A
DRI server on an OS/2 plat-form communicates with a DRI client on an OS/2
platform ·
An
DRI client (on an NT or UNIX platform) has access to a DRI server on an OS/2
platform |

|
|
IRISA/DRI for OS/2 provides libraries, files and samples for the development and execution of DRI-based client and server applications on OS/2.
Benefits

·
IRISA/DRI
for OS/2 complies with Irisa’s standard client/server architecture
·
A
common use of IRISA/DRI for OS/2 is the creation of a software telephony
interface for Call Center workstations.
Distinctive characteristics
·
Allows
native integration of Irisa functions in an OS/2 desktop application
·
Allows
the creation of dedicated servers enabling other Irisa applications to access
data stored and maintained on OS/2 platforms
